The Mercy Clinic - In early 2005, shortly after the senseless tragedy at the Ohio nightclub that took the life of Dimebag Darrell, as well as several others (including Jeff "Mayhem" Thompson, Damageplan’s head of security), Lachman found himself at home without a band. It was about that time that Harrah had sent Lachman some rough demos of the music he had been writing with Stinson and Najera. Lachman was instantly struck by what he heard. "I wasn’t necessarily looking for it, but all of a sudden there it was, staring me in the face. Something about it was immediately inspiring. I began to immerse myself in songwriting again and focused on putting melodies and lyrics to the music they had sent me. It literally saved me from total insanity." The results speak for themselves ‘ heavy rock songs with undeniable hooks and infectious melodies. While The Mercy Clinic will certainly be recognized as a "heavy" band, they see themselves as a band that is able to push the boundaries of hard rock music and appeal to a much broader audience, rather than trying to fit into any one specific niche or genre. According to Lachman, "It’s important to us to dissolve the boundaries and classifications of music that have become so prevalent. If we want to write a ballad, we will. If we want to write an all-out, crushingly heavy tune, so be it. Why try to fit into a category? Trends come and go, but good songs will stand the test of time." (More)

Peter DiStefano - "Gratitude" Best known for his role in Jane's Addiction offshoot band Porno For Pyros, highly talented guitarist/songwriter Peter DiStefano makes his return to rock music's foreground on 3rd May 2004, with the release of his brand new solo album 'Gratitude'. Having kicked a heroin addiction and beaten cancer, DiStefano has painstakingly rebuilt his career, recording two self-produced albums prior to 'Gratitude' and working on other musical projects with the likes of Stone Temple Pilots' Scott Weiland and Bauhaus' Peter Murphy. 'Gratitude' is a richly textured album that fully reveals itself and rewards the listener with each successful spin. The lyrics are quite clearly drawn from DiStefano's life experiences and as the man himself admits, "This album is the story of my life... It's therapy!" (More)
